Shrimp Stir Fry with Noodles – Carmy

Sweet and savoury, this healthy Shrimp Stir Fry with Noodles comes together with simple everyday ingredients in a flash! Perfect for a busy weeknight, this stir fry noodle recipe is loaded with veggies and is super versatile.

I love stir fried noodles as they’re so quick and easy to make. Similar to my homemade chow mein, this shrimp and noodles stir fry recipe only requires some pantry and kitchen staples and you’ll have dinner ready in no time.

Why You’ll Love This Shrimp and Noodle Stir Fry

  • It’s a fast recipe that you can throw together on a busy weeknight. Thanks to the shrimp being a quick-cooking protein, this recipe doesn’t require a ton of time in the pan!
  • This shrimp noodle stir fry is packed with veggies! There’s broccoli, red bell peppers, and carrots. Feel free to add more of each vegetable or swap it out for a different veggie of your choice.
  • I prefer this homemade version of shrimp stir fry with noodles to take-out as I’m able to customize the flavours. Sometimes when I’m feeling for something more savoury, I’ll add more sesame oil. If I’m craving more vegetables, I’ll double the veggies! Make this stir fry your own!

Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients needed to make shrimp and noodles stir fry.

For the Sauce

  • soy sauce — use low sodium soy sauce.
  • honey — feel free to adjust the amount of honey if you prefer a less sweet recipe.
  • orange juice — or pineapple juice if you have it.
  • mirin: mirin is a Japanese sweet rice wine, if you are unable to find it, you can try rice vinegar with extra honey
  • sesame oil — I use pure sesame oil to add a nice nutty flavour to the sauce.
  • cornstarch — you’ll need some cornstarch to thicken the sauce.

For the Shrimp Stir Fry

  • oil — use olive oil or vegetable oil.
  • shrimp — I use jumbo shrimps that have their shells and vein removed to save time from doing it myself.
  • vegetables — broccoli florets, carrot, and red bell peppers.
  • garlic — I highly recommend mincing your own garlic instead of buying preminced garlic. I usually minced a whole bunch at once and freeze the garlic to save time.
  • salt and pepper
  • noodles — use whatever noodles you like! I used chow mein noodles but you can use lo mein noodles, ramen noodles, or even spaghetti noodles.
