Pasta with Peas and Bacon

Pasta with Peas and Bacon

When it comes to easy weeknight dinners, nothing beats this Pasta with Peas and Bacon. It’s made with pantry and freezer staples and can be whipped up in less than 30 minutes.

Whenever I need something quick and easy, I make this simple bacon and peas pasta as it doesn’t require a ton of work. Most of the ingredients I already have at home, so it saves me from a trip to a store!

Why You’ll Love This Pasta Recipe

  • If you love bacon, then you’ll love this pasta as the pasta is tossed with the fat from the bacon. While you can drain the fat, there’s so much flavour in it that I don’t.
  • It’s super easy to make and is a beginner friendly recipe!
  • It’s fast as you can cook the bacon, onion, and garlic while the pasta cooks. Once the pasta is done, the timing works out to have the pasta added to the bacon.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients needed to make bacon pea pasta.
  • pasta — I use pasta shells but you can use whatever small pasta shape you’d like.
  • bacon — regular bacon or thick cut bacon works.
  • onion — I use a small sweet onion but feel free to use yellow or red onion as well.
  • garlic — wondering why my garlic in the photo is a square shape? It’s because I froze it that way! See how I prep my garlic by freezing it in this “how to freeze garlic” post.
  • salt & pepper
  • butter — just a knob of unsalted butter is needed.
  • peas — I love using frozen peas as it’s more convenient than fresh peas.
  • parmesan — use shredded or petals for ease.
  • lemon — a splash of citrus really brightens the pasta.
