Sweet, creamy, and floral, this lavender latte is a delightful way to start your day. The flavors work so well together, and it comes together with only a few simple ingredients.
You will fall in love with this lavender latte after your first sip. Its sweet and delicate floral flavors make for a cozy and delicious drink. And the best part? You don’t have to be a seasoned barista to make this easy lavender latte at home.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- You don’t need fancy equipment or ingredients to make this lavender latte at home! I use homemade lavender syrup and lavender buds might be a little difficult to find, but once you get a bag online (such as Amazon), you’ll have so much to last you for ages! You can also buy lavender syrup.
- I love making this when I have guests for brunch because it seems like a coffee that takes a lot of work to make, but it really just comes together in a few minutes!
- I love the delicate floral flavor! Lavender is quite calming, so I find that it’s a nice way for me to start off a busy day.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- espresso — I use vanilla Nespresso pods, but you can brew a strong coffee or use instant espresso.
- lavender syrup — you can make this at home by simmering a 1:1 ratio of water and sugar with a spoonful or two of lavender buds. Here’s my homemade lavender syrup recipe. You can also buy it on Amazon.
- milk — you can use regular milk or dairy-free milk. I use regular milk as I like to froth my milk, and I find it froths better than nut-milk.
How to Make a Lavender Latte
- Prepare your coffee. I use a coffee maker. Heat up your milk if you’d like warm milk. You can heat up the milk in a machine or on the stovetop. You can even microwave the milk if you choose to. Alternatively, froth your milk!
- To a glass or mug, add the lavender syrup. Add ice if you’d like to enjoy it cold.
- Add the coffee.
- Top off the coffee with milk, and if you choose to, garnish with extra lavender buds.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- If you don’t have a milk frother, you can simply add the milk to a mason jar and shake until foam forms! You can also just heat up milk on the stovetop. I use my trusty smeg.
- You can skip frothing the milk and just add it directly to the coffee if you prefer.
- If you’re a fan of honey flavors (similar to the Starbucks’ Honeycomb Lavender Latte), you can use my honey lavender syrup! Or add a drizzle of honey to the latte at the end.
- If you want to make this lavender latte even stronger, you can add some lavender syrup to the milk before you froth it.
